Dasara Festival 2024. In the hindu calendar, it falls on the 10th day of the ashwin or kartik. It is widely believed that it was on dasara that lord rama killed the demon ravana and rescued sita.

The dasara festivities culminate on the night of vijayadashami with a torchlight parade, locally known as panjina kavayatthu. Mysore dasara famous for its jamboo savari, mounted with ambari and torch light parade.
